Privacy Policy

What happens to the information you send through the form on this site.

What this page covers

This policy explains what happens to the information you send through this website. This is Alex's personal website. It is not an official Skyline Smart Energy website.

What is collected

Only what you type into the consultation form: your name, phone number, email address, property address, whether you own or rent, a rough roof age, an optional note about why you are looking into solar, and the best time to reach you.

The form also records whether you checked the optional box saying it is OK to text you, and when.

No account is created. No payment information is requested at any point, because nothing is sold on this site.

How it is used

To contact you about a solar consultation, and to arrange an assessment with Skyline Smart Energy's team. Nothing else.

Your information is not sold, rented, or traded.

Who it is shared with

Skyline Smart Energy, so their team can schedule and carry out the assessment. They are the licensed contractor that performs the work.

Service providers that operate this website on our behalf, such as a hosting provider and an email delivery provider. They may process the information only to provide that service.

Anyone we are legally required to disclose it to.

Calls and texts

Submitting the form with your phone number is a request to be called back about it. The checkbox on the form is separate: it covers whether it is also OK to text that number. Either way, contact comes from Alex personally, not an automated system.

You can ask Alex to stop calling or texting at any time, on a call, by text, or using the contact details below.

How long it is kept

For as long as needed to follow up on your enquiry and to keep a record of your consent, then no longer than required.

Your choices

You can ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. California residents have additional rights under state privacy law, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

To make any of these requests, use the contact details below.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. Google Analytics sets its own cookies in your browser and receives information about your visit, such as the pages you view, their full addresses (which can include a campaign or ad click code), the website that sent you, and basic details about your device and browser. The site's code also tells Google Analytics when you tap the phone number and when you complete each step of the consultation form, but it does not send anything you type into the form. To learn how Google uses this information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. To stop Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits, you can install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block or delete its cookies in your browser settings.

Advertising

When you send a consultation request, this site also tells Google Ads that a request was made, so Alex can see which of his ads lead to consultations. Google receives the address of the page you were on (including any campaign or ad click code in it), Google's identifiers for your browser, and basic details about your device and browser. At that point Google also stores its own advertising cookie, and a similar entry in your browser's local storage. Nothing you type into the form is sent to Google.

You can review and turn off personalized ads from Google at My Ad Center. You can also opt out of interest-based ads from many advertising companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative. These settings control the ads you are shown; they do not stop the booking measurement described above.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, so this site does not change what it does when it receives one.

Children

This site is intended for homeowners and is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page.
